Guidelines: Apply to the ADM

 

Apply to ADM II - Applications Now Closed

Proposals must be submitted through this Africa Diaspora Marketplace website. For detailed application instructions, please click Apply in the top navigation. If you experience trouble, please send an email to info@diasporamarketplace.org. In addition, prospective applicants may submit questions or request clarification in writing to this address, no later than February 24, 2012. The implementing partner, SEAF, will respond to questions and requests for clarification and share them with all potential applicants.

The deadline for submission of your proposal is 5 p.m., EST (17:00 EST), on March 2, 2012. Note that only submitted applications will be considered for the competition and that any proposal in draft form will be automatically deleted after the submission deadline. To be considered for this competition, please make sure that you click the "Submit" button on your application by 5 p.m., EST (17:00 EST), on March 2, 2012.

Please note: All applications are treated with the highest degree of confidentiality. All judges, consultants and organizers have signed confidentiality agreements that prevent them from using or discussing any information related to the applicants or their ideas. This confidentiality agreement will be in effect even after the competition has ended.

Since its inception the African Diaspora Marketplace has supported SME development throughout Africa, with programs such as:

  • ADM I, a business plan competition which provided matched grant funding for 14 SMEs in 7 countries (2009-2010)
  • ADM II, a business plan competition which has provided matched grant funding, technical assistance and linkages to other sources of financing for ADM participants (2011-2012)
  • Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) 2nd Round Investment event, provided the opportunity for 17 SMEs to pitch their businesses for equity and social impact investment (2012)
  • Bank Of Industry (BOI) ADM Live Banking Forum, created access to 8 competing Pan-African banks for entrepreneurs to pitch their business plans for SME loans and other financing (2012)
  • Libya Diaspora Marketplace (LDM), encouraging SME growth and employment following a time of change (2013)
  • TEF and BOI ADM financing events, details to be announced for November 2013
